Why We Chose Mango Butter for Our Mylk Fat Tallow Balms

When we created our Mylk Fat tallow balms, we needed a moisturiser that even the most sensitive, reactive skin could trust. That’s why Mango Butter became one of our core ingredients.

Why Not Shea or Cocoa Butter?

Nut-based butters are common in skincare, but they don’t work for everyone including one of our founders, who has lived with eczema and TSW since childhood. Shea and cocoa butter often caused irritation and flare-ups.

We needed something gentler.

Why Mango Butter Works So Well

1. Naturally hypoallergenic

Safer for reactive, eczema-prone, or easily irritated skin.

2. Soft, cushiony texture

Melts in effortlessly and absorbs better than heavier butters - no greasy residue.

3. Supports barrier repair

Rich in fatty acids that help soften dryness, smooth rough texture, and prevent moisture loss.

4. Ideal for everyday use

Light enough for daily routines, yet rich enough for compromised skin.

Why It Pairs Perfectly With Tallow

Tallow provides skin-identical lipids.
Mango Butter adds softness, glide, and extra nourishment.

Together, they create a balm that absorbs beautifully and keeps skin calm, balanced, and deeply moisturised.

Inspired by Real Skin Journeys

Mango Butter wasn’t chosen because it’s trendy - it was chosen because our founder’s sensitive, eczema-prone skin needed something more gentle than traditional butters.

We formulate for the skin that struggles most.

The Bottom Line

If your skin reacts easily, feels dry, or prefers minimal, gentle products, Mango Butter makes a noticeable difference - and it’s a big part of why our tallow balms feel so soothing.

A calm barrier starts with the right ingredients. Our Mylk Fat balms were built with exactly that in mind.
